Henry Normal BiographyHenry was born in Nottingham. His entertainment career began as a poet and stand-up comedian in the mid-Eighties.

Henry has been responsible for creating, writing, executive producing and script-editing some of the best and award winning television comedy of the last decade.

As a writer, he has worked with many of the UK’s top comedians including Caroline Aherne, Dave Gorman, Craig Cash, John Thompson, Johnny Vegas and of course Steve Coogan, before setting up Baby Cow Productions in 1999 with Steve.

He co-created THE MRS MERTON SHOW and THE ROYLE FAMILY with Caroline Aherne and Craig Cash, and the PAUL AND PAULINE CALF characters with Steve.

Henry co-wrote THREE FIGHTS, TWO WEDDINGS AND A FUNERAL with Steve, which won a BAFTA in 1994.

He wrote for the FAST SHOW and other writing credits include COOGAN’S RUN and THE TONY FERRINO PHENOMENON.

In both 1996 and 1997, THE MRS MERTON SHOW, which Henry co-wrote with Caroline Aherne, Craig Cash and Carmel Morgan, won a BAFTA. The show also won a prize at the prestigious British Comedy Awards in 1996.

THE MAN WHO THINKS HE’S IT, which Henry co-created and co-wrote with Steve, won a South Bank Award and was nominated for an Olivier Award in 1998.

Since 1999 he has devoted the majority of his time to running and building Baby Cow. He has executive produced all of Baby Cow’s output and script edited many of the shows.

His film credits include THE PAROLE OFFICER which he co-wrote with Steve in 2001. He contributed to the script of 24 HOUR PARTY PEOPLE and was an executive producer on the film, as well as on A COCK AND BULL STORY.

Message : Re-Henry Normal.
Many years ago I saw an edition of Granada reports where Henry Normal read a poem, I think it was called "is this all there is" or something similar. Would love to know where I can get a copy. Tried various searches on the web to no avail.
